About Mark Wheaton
Born in Texas, Mark Wheaton is the author of the bestselling Fr. Luis Chavez trilogy - FIELDS OF WRATH, CITY OF STRANGERS, and WAGES OF SIN (Thomas & Mercer) - as well as the Texas-set crime tale, BAYTOWN SALVAGE. His next novel, a science fiction romance entitled EMILY ETERNAL will arrive from Grand Central Publishing in 2019.
As a screenwriter, Wheaton has worked on such features as FRIDAY THE 13TH (New Line) and THE MESSENGERS (Sony) as well as TV-movies such as FIRESTORM: LAST STAND AT YELLOWSTONE (A&E) and INFECTED (Syfy). He has also worked as a producer on films such as VOICE FROM THE STONE.
In addition, Wheaton has worked in video games and comic books (including creating Dark Horse's horror series, THE CLEANERS), but also as a film reporter for such movie magazines as TOTAL FILM, FANGORIA, L'ECRAN FANTASTIQUE, SHIVERS, STARBURST, CINESCAPE, FEMME FATALES, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, MOVIE INSIDER, FILM SCORE MONTHLY, and several other print and online outlets.
Wheaton got his start in theater with his first play, EVITA SASSY AND THE BLACK MASK'S LAST GASP, produced by the Tada! Children's Theater in New York City when he was 19.
